NEW T’ai Chi class added to schedule

Please join us for Yang T’ai Chi Chuan for beginners with John Creech, Wednesdays at 10:00 am beginning April 5. It is well known that practicing T’ai Chi is beneficial for improving balance, increasing flexibility and strengthening core muscles. This on-going class will start at the beginning of the form and will progress through the different movements. This class is included in membership; however, drop-ins are welcome at any time.

Need some time for yourself? Join Shelburne Field House by April 30 and along with your year-round membership, you’ll receive ONE FREE MONTH of childcare for up to two children three times per week (limit of 90 minutes per visit). De-stress and improve your overall health with our wide variety of classes, or work out on your own in our cardio or weight training rooms. We welcome children ages 6 months to 6 years. Children younger than 6 months are often allowed to accompany mom or dad, or may be able to join the other children depending on the ages and number of kids already signed up.
Also with your new membership, take advantage of a free 1-hour welcome session with a personal trainer who will give you advice on how to get started on achieving your goals. Not enough to tempt you yet? We’ll also waive the $95 joining fee! After your free month, childcare is only $5/hour/child. What a great way to treat yourself!
If you don’t have need of childcare, we’ll substitute a $50 gift card good toward any food purchases at Overtime – the Shelburne Field House Sports Bar. Don’t delay, this offer ends on April 30, 2017.
Changes to Spinning Schedule

With instructors going on to new careers or moving out of state, we have some changes to our Spinning schedule:
Tuesdays at 5:45 pm – Spinning w/ Lauren starts 3/28
Wednesdays at 8:45 am (NOTE NEW TIME) – Spinning w/ Lauren starts 3/22
Thursdays at 8:30 am – this class has been cancelled effective immediately
Saturdays at 7:00 am – Julie is subbing for Rayne through 3/25
Saturdays at 8:45 am – Paul will be teaching for the month of April

Julie and Ken Cartularo are off for Nantucket! We wish them the best of luck with their new adventure, but will miss Julie terribly! Julie has been a Spinning instructor with us since 2006 shortly after Shelburne Health & Fitness (now Shelburne Field House) opened! She’s had a regular following ever since.
Beginning next week, Lauren will be teaching the Tuesday evening class (5:45 pm) and Paul will be teaching the Saturday morning class (8:45 am). Paul will only be teaching that class through the month of April, so we’d love to hear who you’d like to see take over this class going into the future.
Tara moves onto another chapter

We wish Tara Mathews, personal trainer, Spinning and Yoga instructor, and co-founder of Shelburne Health & Fitness. Tara has been a fixture here at the club since Shelburne Health & Fitness started, and even before that as a regular member of Shelburne Athletic Club. We miss her energy and wish her the best of luck in her new career.

Tabata Training with Nick expands to 3 time slots

Tabata Training with Nick has expanded to 3 classes – Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30 am and Wednesday evenings at 5:45 pm. After a group warm up, you’ll move around to 8 different stations at which you will work out for 40 seconds, take a 20 second break, and move on to the next. After all eight stations have been completed, take a bit longer rest before repeating two more times. Each station can be adapted to your level of cardio fitness and strength. A cool down and some stretching will finish out this 45-minute class. If you’re looking for something different, this is it!
