Jameson Halnon
Jameson
had been a fit individual throughout high school. He ran cross
country and participated in basketball as well. He entered the
University of Vermont in 2005 and soon began to gain weight. He
turned his lithe frame into a heavy one. His sophomore year he
knew he had to make a change. He went on to lose 40 pounds to
return to the fit person he once was. He continued to strength
train and run throughout college. He graduated from UVM in 2009
with degrees in Political Science and Sociology. Following
graduation he pursued his love and interest for fitness by
becoming a certified personal trainer through the National
Strength and Conditioning Association. By training alongside or
under collegiate & elite athletes he learned how to put sport
specific training programs together and how to meet the needs of
each individual. He ran a half marathon in 2009 and is training
for a marathon for May of 2010. He enjoys putting together
programs for people based on their specific needs. He is
constantly looking for ways to challenge himself both mentally

Tara Mathews Keve
Tara's
approach to personal fitness is based on a regimen combining
strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and close attention to
healthy nutrition. She can show you that a fun, well-rounded and
varied routine practiced with intention will help you to succeed
with your own fitness goals!
Tara's
commitment to fitness began over twenty years ago after the birth of
her first child. She found that maintaining a personal fitness
routine was essential to balancing family, career and recreation. In
the course of participating in a variety of fitness related
activities Tara found that she has a knack for motivating others to
achieve their fitness goals. A personal training client recently
summed it up when she wrote "All of your training ideas and advice
have made my workouts more productive and exercise is no longer a
chore, but part of a fun lifestyle".
A
dedicated practice of Ashtanga yoga with teacher Dana Apgar led Tara
to complete an intensive teacher training course in 2005 with David
Swenson, a world renowned teacher of Ashtanga yoga, and to practice
with K. Pattabhi Jois, who is considered the patriarch of the
Practice. She is delighted to share her passion for yoga with you
through regular classes or private yoga instruction.
Tara
holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from UVM and is certified as a
personal trainer and spinning instructor. She regularly
participates in continuing education courses ranging from fitness
programming for rehabilitation and special populations to
bodybuilding techniques for healthy athletes and Thai yoga
bodywork. Tara recently completed a weeklong certification through
the Cooper Institute involving fitness assessment, goal setting,
training and testing specifically for law enforcement and military
personnel.
Using
knowledge and experience gained through such a wide variety of
teachers and research, Tara is prepared to help every individual
meet his or her own personal fitness goals. She is easily found at
the club, or you may call her to make an appointment for a
complimentary personal training consultation.
Tara
loves hanging out at the gym with her friends and taking all the
other classes that she isn't teaching! She has three children and a
dog who never cease to thrill and amaze her. Tara also loves skiing,
sailing, gardening and cooking, all of which have been transformed
by her yoga practice.
