January 23, 2010 ~ Before...
Our plans for the lobby include new carpeting,
better lighting and possibly a relocation of the front desk. |
 |
| We'll be replacing this carpet
runner and providing new shelving for boots/shoes in an effort to keep
the club clean and people's feet dry! |
 |
| Have you ever noticed how dark it
is in this corner? You'll notice a difference when the club
reopens! |
 |
| This is the room where you'll see
the biggest before/after difference. |
 |
| We'll be replacing the lights you
see in these photos with warmer lighting. In addition, we'll be
adding lights around the perimeter of the room. It's going to feel
so much nicer! |
 |
| We're also planning to carpet this
area, painting the walls and trim, and re-arranging the weight equipment
so that there is better flow throughout the room. |
 |
| This room is currently the Pilates
room. It will be renovated into our new Yoga studio. |
 |
| The aerobics room is going to get
a facelift with fresh paint and a new ballet bar. |

January
25, 2010
It was a busy day at SHF's
Field House campus. The pilates equipment moved into the lounge
(photos later once it's organized), and the process of replacing the
lights in the weightroom began. |
 |
| In addition, Mike Quigley took
apart the cardio equipment to restore it to Shelburne Health & Fitness
standards. It's going to feel like we just bought new equipment! |
 |
| The guys from Bristol Electronics
took all the old TVs down and marked out where the new TVs are going to
go. |
 |
| In preparation for the relocation
of the front desk, the small desk area was removed just outside the
club's doors. |
 |
|
January 26, 2010
The front desk has been moved. What a
difference! |
 |
| The guys are
still hard at work painting. It looks great! You're going to
be amazed at how different it feels. |
 |
| The cardio
area is going to have some energy to it (but not enough to knock you
over)! |
 |
| The cardio
room looks so nice in it's new color. It's amazing how much nicer
the floor looks with this new color. Trim and the ballet bar still need
to be finished. |
 |
| The maple
flooring is unwrapped and ready to go into the old pilates studio/new
yoga studio. |
 |
|
January 27, 2010
All of the cardio equipment has been moved into
the aerobics room so that tomorrow the weight equipment can be moved
into the cardio area (while the new carpeting is laid). It all
looks a bit unorganized right now, but everything is moving right along. |
 |
| Here's a
better look at the cardio area. It has great energy, but not TOO
much. You can also see the new mounts for the new TVs that should
be installed by Friday. |
 |
| Where once
it was a stark, cold white, there's color! The biggest difference
will be once the walls are lit by the new circumference lighting which
has not yet been installed. |
 |
|
January 28, 2010
These TVs look kind of small in this photo, but
just wait until you see them - high definition and all!
|
 |
| The wood
flooring went down sooner than we anticipated in the new yoga studio. |
 |
|
January 29, 2010
Most of the carpeting was laid today.
Everything is coming together beautifully. Tomorrow, movers from
Booska are coming to move the weight equipment back into place. |
 |
|
January 30, 2010
Here's a peek at what the cardio room now looks
like. It's going to be a great place to work out! |
 |
| Max is busy
wiping down all the equipment so that it's nice and clean when you get
back to work out here! |
 |
| The new yoga
studio looks wonderful - especially with sunshine beaming in through the
windows. |
 |
| The spinning
bikes are eager to be put back into use. Rayne has picked out the
nicest of the bikes from our Athletic Drive facility to put back into
commission once we move the Spinning program in. We should end up
having about 26 bikes in the room, which means shorter waiting lists! |
